I am surprised they are all green though and no red or purple? ... Alexandra I was indeed expecting more colors, but they were most of the time "classical green". I had a very few purple tint on the edge of some aurora. I had better chance a few years ago. I'll give another try in Februar...

Aurora observation is a like a lottery. One need chance to have all things right at the same time: weather, activity, location, etc.

Yes, the idea comes from the tuner of front etalons. Adjusting is very quick. The problem is that refocus is needed after each adjustment. Parasitic light: Using foam is a good idea, but maybe not easy to fit is not dismantled. Parasitic could be reduced by a better design of the internal part. CS A...

I had the same issue with a "non commercial" tilt adapter.
I used painting tape; it is less sticky than electrical tape.
The bag presented by Pedro is a solution, but the camera may heat up.
Maybe you can wind some cloth (a sock :-) ) around the tilt adapter.

My capture files are about 4Gb. My hard disk can afford ~100Mb/s. The camera delivers ~300Mb/s So while capturing, 1/3 is written to the hard disk, the remaining is stored in memory (16GB installed in my case). A new imaging session from St Veran. Here the filter is a 2.4A CaK from Lunt. I needed to increase the gain and exposure time. The turbulence and internal turbulence impact grandly the quality.
