Pretty good image Stu - that area looked very interesting for a few minutes. I had exactly the same experience this morning with blue sky until 5 minutes after the Sun cleared the big tree in my garden!

About as blank as I have ever seen the Sun but your excellent observations support what I often tell my friends; there is always something to see in Ha if you have a reasonable aperture and the patience to look!

Impressive set of images Leo. The Lunt CaK unit is a great bit of kit and I'm sure you will be blown away once you use it on a disc with more features. Nice set of captures Stu. I was out fishing in the cracks between the clouds and looking for some reasonable seeing this morning too. As you say, take what you can after a week of cloud and gales forecast for tomorrow!

Thanks Franco. The seeing was pretty poor but as gaps opened up between the clouds I got a few seconds of less turbulent air. Very frustrating but quite pleased with the results in the end.

Alexandra: I was quite surprised by the detail in the close up CaK image. Wish I had spent a little more time optimising the settings on the ASI 290MM as it seems to handle CaK very well.

Looks like your seeing was about as good/bad as mine yesterday although the view from your observing site is certainly better than mine :lol: :roll: :lol: I found it hopeless trying to image in white light (although I was being a bit silly using a C9.25) but better in Ha and CaK. Saturday was a very frustrating day for solar imaging. Seeing started out very poor indeed but improved slightly by mid morning and I was trying to capture in the small gaps between the clouds. However, there are worse ways to spend a Saturday and I wanted to try a few experiments with my new ASI290...

Mark.......... I get the same warning page - the BT version anyway - but when I click 'continue' it takes me to the page as shown in Merlin's post above with no pop-ups or other problems. I think the warning page is an ip 'filter' (I'm on BT Infinity) rather than an anti-virus one (I use Avast).
