Aye, the astronomytools site gives a similar tool for sampling. I was just casing the preferences on way or another for how to slow the scope down from the more experienced guys and gals.

Relating to this, which is better (solar imaging that big bright thing that occasionally appears) masking the objective, or adding macro. The latter, of course, adds at least another bit of glass and dust.

Crikey I thought I had a dodgy south aspect with a large stone barn immediately on my west side - an annoying heat source - but you're looking across allsorts from what I can see in that first piccy.
