Re: No images to share yet, lol.
Sounds like me, I'm working backwards from yesterday up to last Thursday. I had to make use of the sunshine to 1. sit in 2. do the garden 3. Solar view. Processing can wait for a non sunny day :) Alexandra Totally agree, lol. I'm now six days imaging in a row. Tomorrow's cloud and rain so from tomo...

No images to share yet, lol.
Hi all, I've not posted since last week. I've got lots of data to process each day since last Thursday. Five days of imaging in a row and potential for tomorrow too according to the forecast. My data is backing up, lol. At the moment I'm just taking advantage of the clear skies and collecting the da...

Re: Experimental big gun today
Always nice to tinker and experiment a bit. Results aren't half bad considering the less than optimal conditions. Thanks Jochen, I was pleased with the results considering the restraints. When the sun is higher I'm still going to try the K-Line. For now I'll be trying the 685nm IR see what that does.

‘Learning by doing’ as the saying goes. It’s good to try things and find out first hand what works and what does not. I’ve found lots of configurations that don’t work, which makes it even more exciting when you do find that magical combination that produces good results. You do have to appreciate ...

Lovely captures, it must feel great to get back to your solar imaging. I get withdrawals if I don't see the sun. Here in the UK I can go weeks, especially in the winter months. Thanks for sharing.

Re: Experimental big gun today
Good first light! You actually just attempted a lot of things that were up against you. Just for your info, the spherical aberration of your SCT (all SCT) is incredibly poor for this type of telescope due to fast F2 mirror and the corrector plate making it very poor for short near UV wavelengths. A...
