Binocular filters

I have a Lunt 152 but also an APM 100MM SD APO 45° (FCD100) DOUBLET BINOCULAR AND UF24MM EYEPIECES. I bought some solar filters. I know the view in the binoculars is only going to be so good, especially compared to the Lunt, but I'm seeking advice on improving the binocular view. Are there 1.25 inch...

Research suggestions

At Willis Observatory we have the Lunt 152, which is advertised as a research grade telescope. I am looking for information on the types of research that might be conducted on our Lunt 152. We offer free admission to the observatory to students, teachers, and artists in four counties. We have 2 PHD'...

Flats

I understand there are several ways to do flats, including producing a pseudoflat.

Does anyone use a Flipflat? Is that overkill?

Re: Best camera for solar imaging

One "last" question. I have Tele Vue 2inch diagonal. Communicating with Basler and Lunt. Nobody seems to be able to say for sure what lens mount I need. Basler indicates C mount varriant of the camera is the most used, and CS mount 2nd most used. The camera is BasleracA1920-155um. My scope...

Re: Best camera for solar imaging

sNot sure it's going to matter but Lunt told me with Basler acA1920-155um (Sony IMX 174 sensor) I would not be able to do full disk. "With your sensor size at 11.3mm x 7.1mm, you unfortunately would not be able to capture full disc. You would need a minimum of 9mm to capture in full disc, prefe...

Re: Best camera for solar imaging

IMG_9487.JPG Mark, Thank you so much. As you can tell, I'm a newbie and have a million questions. Is there a Basler or FLIR that you would recommend, no concern for cost? What else do I need for solar imaging - hardware and software, and for processing? Finally, I have a roll off roof observatory. ...
