The only thing I would avoid though is the reverse, after a while I couldn't work out where the flow of material was going and I got lost.

I did solve the problem, you have to sit the camera at least 4cm away from the Powermate. I used a 4cm extension tube.

I feel your pain Lou, I owned a SolarSpectrum since 2021, I used it 6 times in 2021. In 2022 it didn't work at all after the winter break. I spent 6 months sending images about and thinking it was the TZ4 until finally in the autumn I realised it was the SS. It then took till Jan 2023 for the Vendor...

Thanks everyone for all the fantastic comments and shared memories. One thing I have encountered many times over the last few days is people asking me what I saw visually. So before I forget I tried to desaturate my images to show what I could see, then would point the camera at, then a 3 second exp...

Stuart, many thanks for doing this, I really enjoyed it. I have never really understood the camera pixel, over and under sampling lark before and it made it much clearer.

Wow!!! the red really did seem to go the furthest south
What was the Carrington event like?? I think there were reports you could see the aurora during the day and the night was so bright you could read the newspaper. Let's hope for one like that soon

Fabulous!!! I couldn't believe the colours that were just popping out of the camera, they were unreal. I certainly couldn't see the colours, just greys and faint reds and movement. Then a quick snap and pop, wow!!!
