Re: 280mm telescope + ARIES D-ERF . AR2524

Hi valery, the image is amazing. Can I ask you where the ERF comes from?
I am thinking to use a 6" RC with PST etalon but I need a large ERF, where have you found a 280 ERF? how much is the price? if it is a baader one the price should be impressive!

Re: Fast Quark vs PST

Thanks to everyone for the comments. but it is hard to estimate the bandwidth from just one shot. From what I know of the optical set-up of the Quark, I would guess the bandpass depends to some extent on the focal ratio of the scope used. Maybe this has an impact on the comparison i really don't kno...

Fast Quark vs PST

Hello to everyone, i had only several hours of free time in this weekend so I tried to do a really fast comparison among PST mod and quark cromosphere. The image has been taken on saturday through a Stellarvue 102/800. PST modification has been done using a powermate 2x in front of the etalon. I the...

Re: Some Quark images

Nice shots Marcello...
I have a question for you! You have used a 0.63 celestron reducer, think is the usual SC reducer, is it correct?
How have you mounted it in the optical path? The quark has only 31.8 mm eyepiece holder.

Grazie mille per la risposta e cieli sereni!

Re: Sun 8th PST mod

Yes ok, so this effect comes from non ideal assembly of the instrument. By the way rotating etalon could provide a one more degree of freedom to improve tuning
Where i can find a circular polarization filter? is not a standard astronomy tool....

Hello, i am little bit late but this is an image of solar activity on 8th june...that was a very sunny day in Italy! The instrument is modified PST on a Stellarvue 102/800, I really love this telescope... with qhLii CCD camera. The mosaic has been made with seven pannels. Enjoy the view... http://as...

Re: PST MOD VS Quark 0.5A°, Allo Houston we have a problem!!

Tra the solution could be send it back! The real problem is people that do not have a modified pst to compare how can they prove that their quark is not working?? This is misleading advertisement they declare <0.5 but this is not and is also very difficult for the medium owner demonstrate that this ...

Re: PST MOD VS Quark 0.5A°, Allo Houston we have a problem!!

Interesting video! The silence of Daystar is not good...More serious the fact that on PE daystar garantees the band pass! Now i think that the only way to have an objective opinion is to measure the bandwidth of one quark... but your comparison does not leave many possibilities ;) By the way i have ...

Your comparison is impressive...
nothing to say pst modification perform much more better and this is really strange. If there is no problem in your quark unit i have to say that is not a good advertising for daystar!
By the way your pst modification is amazing

Hi two mosaics of the solar activity of 24/5/2014. The instrument used was the modified PST with 2x telecentric barlow lens, the camera a qhy5. I am pretty satisfied about this scope, it performs really well! http://astrob.in/98418/0/rawthumb/gallery/get.jpg http://astrob.in/98251/0/rawthumb/gallery...

Re: PST modification from Italy

Hi Lorenzo, for a telecentric to work properly they need to be a certain distance from the scopes focal point, and the telecentric itself has a focal 'zone' where a sharp image can be reached. I'm not convinced with the TV that there is much depth to this 'zone' and as such may struggle to get an e...
