AR 2786

This sunspot made it worth pulling out the solar scope for the first time in a while. Clear skies, but rotten seeing. This one was the best I could manage. This was taken on 28 November, with some nice lightbridges and minor flaring. Looks like it is time for the scope to come out of hibernation. A2...

2 May sun

Dusted off the scope for the first imaging session in months. A nice prom to make it worthwhile.

Re: Today's SUN (20190511) | QUARK first light

Yes, looks like you'll get some good close-ups with the Quark. How does your LS152T go with higher power barlows?

Solar egg

The filament around the main active region has closed off a 'loop' and looks a bit egg-shaped to me. Worth a look if you can.

Spots 11 May

Looks like AR2740 might be fading a bit, but AR2741 is becoming nicely positioned for images. Taken with the LS152T and a 3.5x barlow. An attempted mosaic at lower magnification fell over as I forgot to do a flat
. Need to get back in the swing of imaging again...

Good info. I always feel a little guilty that I don't understand what I am imaging in more depth.

Prom 24 April

Managed to get some imaging in this afternoon, but the seeing wasn't brilliant as it was a fairly warm day here. Yay for image processing software to pull out the detail.

Prom detail 23 April

A bit quiet on the sun at the moment, so I thought I would try to get some detail from the brightest prom. Played a bit with gain/exposure/gamma to see what worked best, but the controlling factor (as always) was the seeing.
