Re: Future developments for the digital SHG

High quality optical parts are the bottlenecks, they're much more difficult to find than other parts.

Re: sun in infared calcium

Good to see new SHG images!

I need time and weather to take new pictures.

Re: quick question

My first question raised
"1. If the light source is bright enough, why should we consider high efficiency?"

because of the topic question:
"does anyone use prisms instead of gratings for SHG?"

Re: quick question

Two questions:
1. If the light source is bright enough, why should we consider high efficiency?
2. Does prism absorb some parts of the spectrum?

It should work because it does NOT required advanced functions of PS.

Re: shg- effect of sing focal reducer on camera, damm that d

The bands are not perfectly horizontal, so it cannot be removed by normal processing.

Re: shg- effect of sing focal reducer on camera, damm that d

The program I wrote was intended to merge spectral lines only, no deband functions.

You may submit the original and let me help you.

For those large solar telescope with adaptive optics, the details of SHG can be much better?

Re: Tailor made glass optical slits

Regular slits can easily be dusty and hard to be cleaned, for me. If the blades touch each other, it also can be damaged. Both can cause serious banding problem to the SHG images. That's why I would like to try glass slit instead. For the reflectivity, I can only test visible light based on my camer...
