Re: ASI183 FPS and settings

Depends on the program used Mark.

In FC it's called USB Traffic (set in the Control window under the Gear Icon (More button)

In my old SharpCap is called Turbo USB
and in Genika under Options -> Performance -> Bandwith limit

Re: ASI183 FPS and settings

Hi, the max fps range of the ASI183 in full resolution is 19fps. But you will need a fast computer and usb connection to get that. Also important for that is that USB limit is set at 100%. (But you risc dropping frames when your system can't coop) You also did not specify exposure length setting. Th...

Re: Daystar DS 60

That a nice image and shows, nothing wrong with the scope. That's good. Since the raw image coming out of stacking process already looks very bad only 2 possibilities left: - Autostakkert completely screwed up the stacking ... can happen, but dont think it did. You can check this by inspecting the i...

Re: Daystar DS 60

Hi, there are some things in the image (raw) i don't really understand. The size of the Solar disc on the image Solar Scout has a 930mm focal length. The ASI 120 Sensor size is 4.8x3.8 (mm). No way the solar disc will fit unless with reducer. Did you use a reducer when catching the image? The soft c...

Re: Quark Chromosphere - no image at all

Hi Jochen, looks a familiar experience first time Quark use. Wel if on a dual mount one scope point to the object, does not necessaraly mean the second one also does. (Cone error between the scopes). With the Quark the fov is very small, and also I had troubles finding the Sun first time. Also Quark...

Just busy now taking new images, and yes the spots are getting smaller, but some new pores seem to appear around it.

Will publish the results later today.

Re: Daystar 127mm aperture fully integrated Solar Telescope

I wouldn't want to pay $8k for a Quark grade scope
Neither would I. I have a 120mm scope, so for that price could probably buy 7 quarks (and get bulk discount?) and hopefully get 1 good one.

;)

Re: FD 03-30

My understanding was the 4 stack options were to generate 4 stacks "at the same time" from the same set (left to right on the graph) The diagram is normally shaded, which is the sorted option. You can change that by pressing the frames button on the image window, then you scroll not by quality, but ...

The green line represents the sorted to quality.

Jochen are you sure about the "sections". Doesn't AS stack accourding the the sorted quality? (Thats the only way thats make sense)

Re: Some new activity

Thanks Mark.

I used astrosurface for the stacking but did not use the wavelets of other filters. That was done with IMPPG, which gave me better results. (but i could have settings wrong in astrosurfacce.

Re: FD 03-30

I would say its fixed pattern noise too. But that is strange, never seen that on an AS120.
To much undersampled? What f/ratio did you use Maurits.
