Re: Some Sun after Work - Tuesday 15th July

Thanks everyone for the kind words folks! Was cloudy this morning, and raining after work this afternoon, but tomorrow morning is forecast clear blue skies; if the forecast is right I will be out to image the blank disk again, but even if it is not I will be up early to check...

Some Sun after Work - Tuesday 15th July

I was a happy chappy this afternoon when I was at work and the clouds gradually burnt away revealing blue skies. I decided to get away from work as soon as possible and get me some rays, I didn't think the seeing would be up to much as it was quite hot but it surprised me and was better than I thoug...

Re: My PST CaK mod.

OK fellas, the sun came out this afternoon and I was able to play 'ghost hunting' - I found them, I videoed them, but how do we get rid of them? I used the 40mm f10 scope with a reducer to give me somewhere in the region of 300mm fl to get it on the chip of the DMK31. You can see the main ghost - he...

Thanks Walter - shadow? Hi Matt on of the finest transits I have seen. Do we have by now an explanation for the shadow Hi Matt I'm refering to the shadow around the pelican. Re: My PST CaK mod.

Not too sure what it is. I had thought of the 'unfocused' disk as a possibility - same logic as you, it's larger than the actual disk... Anyway, today I tried a new combination; KG3, PST#1, ~100mm gap, skybender with Baader K-line, ~30mm gap PST#1. Typically the clouds knew I was trying to test this...

Float Away Prom In CaK - 13th July

I was really hoping the clouds might clear a bit today, but they didn't... I was sat perched ready to observe though if they did, and in the tiny cloud breaks I could see there was a huge prom lifting away. I was setup in CaK and was pleasantly surprised how easy the proms were to see: https://farm4...
