Just a few quick pics after work today. The close ups were with the Lunt 100 2.4x Tele-extender+ 2x Barlow. The filaments with just the 2.4 extender. I just love how the filaments pop out visually with this scope. These are basically straight out of registax the close ups using a flat. And by the wa...

No I simply move to the centre of the sun and defocus although not always good(when clouds are moving ) it is a quick method that provides OK results. I only really use it at high magnifications 5x or 2.4 tele-extender + 2xBarlow.

Trying to replicate my shot from a few weeks ago I managed this with the Lunt 100 5x Powermate and GSTAREX camera.Although not quite as dramatic the clouds only allowed around 600 frames per pic and getting a suitable flat was a nightmare. Anyway I was just happy that I could get a similar result . ...

Bill I often use a 100mm ED doublet purchased second hand. It sits well in tandem with either of my Ha scopes. It also doubles as my Birdwatcher and grab and go. Chris due to the nature of my work most of my viewing occurs in the arvo. Hi Pedro I have one of these also. It does show slightly more granulation than my WL set up but the Bandwidth is just to wide . Still it is good for a quick disc shot with a Wide field APO and an ND filter. I find ir hard to get a good close up with this filter onceI introduce Barlows etc.
