Sunday Sun 3rd March 2024

Just a couple of FDs this morning (Ha and CaK) in mono and colour. The seeing conditions were quite okay for a change, although I wish I'd have stopped down my 125 mm Tecnosky for the CaK images, as the seeing wasn't really suitable for that aperture at the shorter wavelength. Re: Topaz Photo AI - opinions...? (+my latest image)

Enhancing real image data is one thing. Creating false (fake) data using AI is quite something else, no matter how well intentioned. I’d say we should aim to keep our images pure and free from AI artefacts. Use any tools available in a way that’s sensitive and respectful to the purity of our craft. ...

Hi Bill, I have a pressure tuned Lunt 60 and release the pressure differential occasionally, when needed. If I can’t get on band at the start of a session, then I reset the pressure as you’ve described. I find it isn’t necessary to do this every session, but I guess it depends on your local conditio...

Monday Sun 26th Feb 2024

The weather report was favourable and the Sun did make an appearance, but boy was it a frustrating session.
