Re: AR3615 - X-flare on 23Apr and M-flare on 24 Apr (Singapore)
Excellent results Alfred. Just a matter of time with the perfect tuning. Hi Dennis, I wish there is a inexpensive way to measuring on-band tilt instead of tilting by trial-and-error :D Alfred There is Alfred and you can do it already... When the image is on band it has the highest contrast, ie the ...

Thanks James, I'll try through the coach window. Just starting to get light now. I hope you got it. I didn't, we drove through a 25km tunnel at sunrise which put a stop to a photo, but here is a shot from the balcony where I am stopping https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53608646698_398fd26d5b_6k....

The second cak image has turned out well Alfred. The first one looks like the tilt is completely wrong to me, excessive tilt infact, uneven illumination is the same as when a ha etalon is tilted too much. The cones of light also imply excessive tilt. I have found there is not really much need to mes...

Interesting, so you get more contrast with the filter at f10 rather than f15? You could tilt the filter in the f15 setup to bring the contrast back.

Quick CaK Disks 23rd March
Making the most of every minute here for solar, we have had heavy showers all morning with fleeting blue gaps, so I decided to set up and go fishing! Make a 40mm aperture stop for the AT72 James, you will get more out of the filter yet - more contrast to get yet.
