To follow what others have done: interesting prominences today. One looked like a flame and the other is the brightest loop that I have ever seen!

Re: what level settings for false color cal k-line

Hi Chris,

If you are asking about the settings to colorize a monochrome image in CaK, here is what I use in Photoshop CS2: Adjustments/Color Balance, then I set Cyan to -75, Magenta to -100 and blue to +25. Example attached.

I hope that this helps.

Great image Bruce. It is rare to see solar images taken with a DSLR on this site, so this is encouraging!

A Solar Observatory in our Condo!

Hi guys,

This is a short description of how we observe and image the Sun from our condo. In fact, we do it from *inside* the bedroom! Watch to see how this is done : https://youtu.be/F3qn-6oVCR4

Tricolor Sun of July 10th, animation!

It's been 20 years that I wanted to do this: an animation sequence of Sun images with my 3 filters (H Alpha, CaK and 514.5 nm).

Finally figured it out today! Images taken on July 10th:

Saint-Jean-Baptiste celebration day Sun, seen from Montreal

This one is to celebrate our provincial heritage on June 24th (our flag color is deep blue!). I am now adding some info to help the layman understand the picture.
