Mark, the advice came from someone who has a Lunt 60, the pixel size is too large for a short focal length. The 174 has a very large pixel size better for longer focal lengths. I still think a pixel size in the 3-4 range would be a better all rounder for you Keith, but wait till Rupert responds to g...

Keith, when working with hydrogen alpha (monochrome red) if you used a colour camera the bayer matrix has 1 red pixel, 2 green ones and a blue pixel. You will only be exciting the single red one, therefore 3/4 of your pixels are lost. If you use a monochrome camera every single pixel is used. Alexan...
