Re: Quark and 120mm f/8.3 Achromat

Hi Bob, I've tried the quark with an internal and external ERF on a range of scopes from 40mm to 127mm, and visually, it is difficult to see the effects of adverse seeing - I can see the 'saw tooth' edge to the sun when things are bad. However my main foray is imaging, and with this the image is not...

Re: Saturday Sunshine - 18th July

Thanks All for the kind words. The banding on the full disk Ha is a result of the camera i'm using, the PGR Blackfly IMX249, I get it at Ha wavelengths. I'm still exploring ways to 'remove it' from all my images, flats are good at high magnification, but not yet successfully done this with my full d...

Saturday Sunshine - 18th July

Hi All. First solar for me in 2 weeks; my mount went down and lets just say with poor communication from suppliers of spare parts it took considerably longer than I would have liked to get it fixed than I would have liked... Nice shots! How come there is a 'hot spot' of brightness in the top right of the first image? - do you take flats? Also, what is the pixel size of the camera you use? Thanks :)
