HABEMUS FOCUS! 2 " Baader Ceramic, MaxbrightII, FC100DL

Post by fedele »

Problem solved.
the 2 "Herschel BAADER Ceramic Prism, greedy for Back Focus, did not make me reach focus with Baader Maxbright II, with my FC100DL, not even with a GPC 1.7x.
I therefore decided to shorten the path as much as possible, replacing the takahashi eyepiece holder of my FC100DL, focuser side.
This takes away many cm.
I therefore had a specific 2 "eyepiece fitting, ULTRASHORT. You can see it here in the picture, screwed directly to the aluminum end of the Takahashi focuser tube.
I removed the large 2 "Click Lock from the prism and, using a Baader 1508035 ultrashort fitting, I screwed the turret directly to the prism itself.
With two 25mm Ploss TV eyepieces, I focus even if slightly, WITHOUT GPC. It is necessary to play a little with the adjustment of the diopters of the turret to guarantee a minimum margin. Tomorrow, hoping for a cloudless sky, I will try better and with other eyepieces.

Well done on solving the problem of focus.
I must admit I haven't tried my binos with any of my set-up's as yet, but I know they work well from years ago..
