Quark - condensation on lens

Post by Moriniboy »

Hi

I have an old ish Quark prom and it suffers from condensation on the outside of lens immediately after the etalon, is this an easy fix.

Even if I store in in desiccant it still appears after a bit of use.

Thanks

Hi there,

I had the same with my Quark - smell it, mine had an oily taint to it. I think it may be some of the optical grease evaporating out from the (red) body of the Quark when it is heated. I just wiped mine off, it did it for a while but then stopped. I guess all the evaporating had happened...

One of my best Quark had has the same problem and then it starts to degrade inside of the etalon stack. Finally it was shipped back to the DayStar and then was replaced with good Quark.
This may happen with old Quarks only. DayStar has solved the problem - lowered the woking temperature of Quarks.
