Istar Objectives
Istar Objectives
Hello guys, some have been wondering about getting Istar lenses. Although we have dealers worldwide, all lenses are sold and shipped from our US distribution center in Fort Myers Florida. I ship all over the world via USPS with good success (usually 7 to 10 days). We have regular achromatic doublets in stock. We can also produce lenses especially for H alpha use. These special lenses are not much more than our standard doublets but are designed specifically for H alpha transmission. JP Brahic and his latest creation is a good example, although quite large, of what our lenses can do. Anything from 127 to more than 250mm can be made. Of course we have complete OTAs available also. I have a personal interest in H alpha viewing and imaging. I currently use a Lunt 60 dbl stack 1200 with a Feathertouch. However, I am going to build a much larger scope. Probably a 180mm or 204mm TCR. Any questions or quotes? Email to: [email protected]

Mike,
Welcome to the site.
I see on JPs scope that he has a little door in the side to insert the D-ERF. Is this something that you could incorporate into your OTAs?
Michael.

Re: Istar Objectives
Thanks for the welcome guys. I'm really enjoying looking over all the good posts. Like finding a hidden treasure if you're as interested in all things solar as I am.
Hmmmm door on the side... I'll talk to production and see what they say. I don't see why not.

Re: Istar Objectives
Hi Mike.
I've been using my Istar 100mm f12 with a Daystar QPE 0.6A and am very happy with the results. I do have my eye on a larger aperture lens ...... someday! Welcome to the site.
Cheers.

Re: Istar Objectives
hi, i received the istar 150 lens just the day before the office closure, all perfect.
Now I'm waiting the workshop that is making my alluminium parts for the solar telescope, i will play with it in september.
if all go well i could pass to a 180, let see.

Re: Istar Objectives
Great images Peter. Hope you don't mind if we put a link on our web site's new H Alpha page. Can I say I think the images taken with the Istar are better?
