WoW! I think that is the biggest scope I have ever seen an amateur put to solar use. Excellent images. The resolution is significant. Look how large those granules are!!

Excellent images!

Out of interest, where did you get the solar film? I needed some ND 3.8 recently, but the biggest I saw were A4 sheets.

I think Dr. Hänssgen wins with his 42" Dobsonian ;)

(though he probably does not image).

WoW. But getting the seeing conditions to really push that monster would be rare.

Hi

This is an old ND3.8 full aperture filter. Now this version of astrosolar filter isn't available in the market. The version available is the ND5.0.
Look at telescope-service.com website.

Ale

Like both the telescopes shown, the Porridge is also so large and no doubt hot too...

Superb granulation images, Ale, especially with 5-6/10 seeing.

Fabulous!!!! :bow :bow :bow

It is a great pity that Baader no longer sell the ND3.8, I have no idea why. For imaging on the C11 the ND5 was far too dark and not fit for purpose. I managed to get ND3.8 only as a gracious gift from someone in the UK who offered me their half roll that they had spare. We should start a petition to get Baader to make it again :)
