Hi All,

There were some interesting features on the Sun today and the weather was pretty good. A few proms, a region of disturbance to the north, and activity in AR12778. Using the 6" Mak, a SolarSpectrum filter, and PGR Grasshopper GX camera. Here's what I caught today.

Phil

Not wanting to waste clear skies, I started imaging before the etalon was up to temperature. Blue wing.

I thought an orange version looked interesting as well.

A nice region of disturbance to the north was worth capturing.

There were not any big proms to be had today but here are two inverted images of what I saw.

Lastly, the main attraction AR12778. With and without a focal reducer.

WoW Phil, nice images. I still am surprised on how much of this detail I could see today in that active region. All those filaments and the spicules being pushed away from the AR. It actually gave me chills! Your images still show more though.

Nice session, Phil!

Blue wing looks ven more impressive than an Ha core.

Oh my goodness!! the beauty of this beast is magnificent. I really enjoyed the blue wing and core. This is a good candidate for a blue wing timelapse to image those transitory Ellerman bombs

Top images, Phil. This AR is complex and has a lot to offer for imaging.
