Full disk 11-11-2020

Post by rsfoto »

Hi,

The discs from November 11 2020 and a timelapse video covering 150 minutes and no Palm Tree crossing the Sun's path  I was going to stop the video acquisition 15 minutes before but then said to me, let it run until the wall appears and so I caught the flare nearly at the end of the session.

In White light the new spot in the Southeast quadrant seems to get as big as the old AR 12781, one can see that it is already covering about 12° in length and I see 5 dark pores or spots.

The Spot in the Souteastern quadrant with the pores or spots has got a number AR 12872 :seesaw

Nice Rainer. AR12781 seems to be calming down a bit, especially as seen in white light. The new AR ( AR12782 ) shows promise. Keep your fingers crossed.

Looking good there, Rainer. It will be interesting to see how the new active region develops.

The new active region as now AR2782 in the S.E. is a "C-Class" flaring on Thursday-AM, so looks as if it is to be interesting...

Rainer, can you post a single frame of the flare (animation) I like it a lot!
Also the time, was it the C2 class flare at 19:12UT?

Hi Alexandra,

No, it was not 19:12 UT as at that time the Sun is behind the infamous Palm Tree

It was from 22:17 UT to 22:27 UT. Below the middle image of the 40 ...
