Hola Pedro,

That is an interesting comparison between single, double and triple stack. Thank you.

That triple-stack certainly well-increases the contrast Pedro. Well done as usual.

I don't see people triple stack that much. I bet visually the image would be quite dim. It results in very good contrast on your images though!

Interesting side-by-side comparison there, Pedro. Must have been a bit of effort to get all three etalons perfectly tuned.

Out of curiousity, how much did that triple-stack influence the exposure times?

Thanks Jochen

The triple stack has a huge influence in the exposure time. I had to increase gain, usually I never do that

The result is interesting. I also used the the autostakkert flat field option (it is not easy to adjust the three etalons - two front-loading and one end-loading)

Great results Pedro! I tried the triple stack route a good few years ago now, I like the contrast that it gives, but for me the increase in exposure time and fiddly tuning meant I never pursued it.

Excellent, Pedro. I can only imagine the challenges tuning all three etalons :)

Great result though.

Thanks again guys

As I mentioned before it is hard to tune all three etalons. I guess I will stick with double stack

Hello Pedro,
This is excellent. A big THANKS for sharing this.
Looking at these, I found the triple stack image a bit less crispy than the others. My understanding is that the triple stack samples a layer higher is the chromosphere, and the higher the layer the less crispy are the details. We can see this phenomenum in professional images too.
Do you thing that a difference in seeing / exposure time could also be an explanation ?
Thanks
Christian

Thanks Christian

I agree completely, the triple stack images are less crisp. I have to add that the third etalon used was a pre-meade SM40 with a lower aperture.
