FD and proms in HA and Baader Ca-K 29th January

Post by Stardust5858 »

Hi all, not entirely satisfied with yesterday's results, illumination not quite right. There was high altitude haze but not sure if that's why. Usually I can get good overall illumination. Anyway these are taken with my Lunt 60mm DS and 80ed both with the Zwo ASI 178mm camera.

Awwwww, thanks, it's really challenging this time of year with the low altitude of the sun and weather isn't it.

Hi Nigella, I wish that I could get such exquisite and fabulous images as you do - regardless of the weather.
Your coloured version of the "Two Trees & Hedgerow" prom and the undefined one in close-up are may favs...

Thanks vm for sharing
Terry

Nice shots Nigella! Try sharpening the caK and proms at a smaller radius, you will get more detail out. Stopping down the ED80 to 60mm will tease out more detail too as spherical aberration is reduced, it will also be a lot more friendly to your seeing.

:hamster: WOW!! look at that solar disc :hamster:

Fabulous proms and CaK :bow :hamster:

Alexandra

PS Just wondering, all your images are time stamped with a 30th January mark, are they from the 29th or 30th Jan? However, somehow I can't see you imaging at 19:35. If you could correct that you would find it useful in the future, when flares occur or something special it is good to refer to the time stamp as you will never remember unless you write the time down somewhere else.
