Few January images

Post by krakatoa1883 »

December 2020 and this January were the worst I remember, I have been able to do only very few images most of them in awful seeing conditions. For most of the time I have been forced to limit my ambitions to the use of the small Lunt50, calcium and WL imaging being impossible. I saved just the four images below, hope to have a better February but the polar vortex is still very well placed at mid latitudes so I do not have much expectations. Thanks for looking.

Hi Raf!

I share your pain regards the conditions and weather, i've been limited pretty much to the 50mm in Ha too (and 40mm in CaK!). Your images are excellent and lets hope things improve again soon. Love that last pic!

Mark

Yes Raf, Solar-viewing from S.E.England has also suffered from a very limited/cloud-free time this year, plus the low-down Sun difficulties too...
And now with a very-quiet Disk and proms today, just means we have to more patient than ever...

My seeing conditions have been poor for most of the winter. It's hard to find a day when I can use decent magnification. I have used my smaller scopes more than my bigger ones and the seeing limits the bigger ones enabling the smaller ones to compare to them. I am awaiting summer mornings with their better seeing.
