WL and Ha FD on June, 29th

Post by davidem27 »

Hi everybody,
This morning the Sun was stunning.

For h-alpha full disk I used a Lunt 50 and for the White light I used a 120ED with Cool Ceramic Herschel Wedge.
178mm camera.

PS: i definitely hate these Newton rings

Fine images, very sharp and well processed. I personally don't like yellow on "white light" images, though, but it's matter of personal taste.

Beautiful photos Davide!

Did you use a Barlow for the WL close-up?

Best wishes,
Alexandros

Stunning work on all of these! I especially love the second image. Very sharp with a lot of detail. Excellent contrast. Individual granules are easily seen. The largest spot looks like a cool looking monster! See the open mouth and eyes!?

Thanks so much for your comments.

Following, you can find my "optical train" to reach focus with Lunt and barlow.
There is no other way to take focal plane with a small barlow. It has to be as near as possible to the camera.
Attaching to camera nose... it does not work.
So I removed it and screwed the camera to the BF eyepiece holder.

But, for the WL close up, I used my Baader VIP at almost 1,6x
