No that all can be seen, but those that can be, you have drawn well Marios.

Pushing the limits for the September challenge with 1 day to go! First ever solar pencil sketch. I worked from one of my photographs this time so I could get used to the technique. Much more tricky than I thought it would be: you’ve got to start somewhere!

Wow!! what unbelievable sketches! :bow :bow :bow

Marios, who needs SDO when we have you, and Nic, that is amazing, long may this continue into the future :bow :bow :bow
I really really hope we keep the sketches going, please post them after September. Astronomical art is such a beautiful thing and such a gift, it is also great fun to do and has been done since time began, it is also very relaxing in this stressful world. When the forum first began we had a lady who used to use our images and create solar inspired pottery, they were amazing, I wonder what happened to her.

Remember this is Solarchat, anything solar related can be posted here, whatever inspires you :)

Alexandra

Excellent sketch of yesterday's FD Marios - with so much to look for then. Has quietened down much today.

Nic, that looks like my hair-style of many yonks ago, but at least a good effort of trying to replicate the activity.

I believe the lady that Alexandra was referring to, gave our club a couple of presentations many years ago and lives somewhat locally. Can't remember here name off-hand, but I know someone who will...

Cheers
Terry

Thank you for your encouragement all. I’ll definitely be sketching again. I found all manner of detail when sketching that I hadn’t noticed when simply looking at the photograph. I’ve also ‘fallen into the trap’ recently of being so fixated on learning to image and process that I’m forgetting to relax and enjoy looking at the sky. This experience of sketching helped me realise that visual observing in addition to imaging will give me a much more rounded & enjoyable experience.

Hello solar friends,
The weather this morning was cloudy. Fortunately I found a ten minute window for sun observation. I missed AR12881...i have not seen spot to this area.
