Re: Solar Observing
My solar telescopes, White light, H alpha and CaK are mounted on a SW HEQ5 mount.
When properly polar aligned I don’t need to use any additional guiding software and generally just use sidereal tracking. This keeps the solar disk in the FOV for as long as I want.
The only “additional” controls I use are SW electronic motors with a handcontroller to remotely focus the telescope, and tune the H alpha etalon.
Image acquisition uses FireCapture software, for my ASI 174 and ASI 1600 cameras.
Hope this helps.

What context are you talking here? The mount?willisobservatory wrote: ↑Fri May 01, 2020 2:17 am What software do you use to control your solar telescope when you are observing?
