Hi,
Having had some clouds with sporadic Sun rays I decided to take some images of our Cacti collection. Mexico is one of the countries in the world with a huge amount of different cacti and where I live in the semidesert central Mexico is where we have a lot of them.
Here some images of mostly unknown Cacti.
This flower developed in less then 3 days. " Echinopsis Multiplex "
Nature has also Black holes
Cacti do also get grey hair The next one we call here in Mexico Granny " Viejito " = Cephalocereus senilis
and here a Forbidden Fruit " Lophophora Williamsii " or in common Spanish Peyote https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peyote
This one gives beautiful light pink flowers when in bloom. This one wanted to bloom but the flower did not come out right and died before growing.

Nice collection you have there, Rainer.

Be aware that under the grey hair there are nice sharp pointed thorns ...

Hi,
Yes that is what they call a Golden Barrel " Echinocactus Grusonii "
There are many of the family of " Echinocactus ... " and they grow huge in size in the wild. Perhaps I find some of my old images.
regards Rainer

Re: Cacti reflecting Sunlight
Thanks Rainer.Succulents are very popular here as house plants but not so much those with spines.
