Red Fox

Post by JochenM »

I seem to be on a roll with wildlife lately.

I spotted this one way across a field more or less heading in my direction. So decided to play the waiting game and let it come closer.

Needless to say, I wasn't expecting it to come this close (nor was it expecting me, I'm sure). It didn't seem to be too overly bothered though and slowly moved on.

Quite happy with the experience and of course the shot.

Oh so well captured Jochen.

To keep so still and quiet would almost certainly allowed this excellent capture.

Thanks for sharing

These moments of wildlife encounter are what make life worth living. You watching him and he watching you, a moment of trust, then moving on. What a special moment.

What a magnificent animal and a beautiful shot :hamster:

Fabulous capture Jochen: I see a fox here once in a while but it is always quicky trotting around and gone in a couple of seconds !

You are lucky to have had such a magic moment...

Hi Jochen,

Great shot. I did not know foxes have a feline pupil.

So are Foxes from the Dog family or Cat family ?

Thanks Rainer.

Good point. They're technically considered dogs indeed.

I guess since they're solitary and mostly active in low light conditions, it makes more sense for them having slitted pupils (evolution at work).
