... timelapse
Hi,
Yesterday I tried to make a timelapse of a Sun set and honestly I do not know if I succeeded. Perhaps the chosen focal length was not good
I will try today again.

and at night, I do not know if this belongs here at all, I was able to get 3 lightning strikes
Sun set ...

These lightning photos are great to see Rainer...well done !!!
The sunset animation looks great too. Where was this taken...appears to overlooking the ocean at a resort?

Re: Sun set ...
These really made my morning thanks Rainer
I loved both scales for individual reasons. It was funny watching all the people in the pool
The lightning is amazing too!
You should pop the two timelapses in the October solar challenge!

A fabulous set of captures Rainer and the cloud animation shows so well how clouds can operate at the high-levels too.
Thanks for sharing

Re: Sun set ...
Very nice, Rainer.
Did you use a trigger for the lightning shots or just try to time it correctly with lightning-fast reactions?

Re: Sun set ...
Hi Jochen,
It is quite simple. Take a self timer and set it in that way that you take continuously images.
I used the Canon Zoom lens EF 11-24 at f/4.0 set at 24 mm and exposed for 60 seconds in bulb mode. Let it just run and you will get a lot of Lightning strikes.
Before choosing an exposure time make a few test shots and see what happens with overexposure of the surroundings when no lightning is there.
regards Rainer

Re: Sun set ...
Very, very beautiful photos and videos. Freezing lightning was my old dream - it's gorgeous footage!
Watching the sunset, could you see the "green flash" at the very end?

Re: Sun set ...
Hi Ivan,
Thanks and no, no green flash. There where also clouds reaching farther away then the Horizon and so the Sun did not set over the Sea horizon which is the moment the green flash appears.
Today i tried it again, but again clouds reaching farther away from the Horizon.
regards Rainer
