Post by rsfoto »

Hi,

Long time ago since I had a Praying Mantis in the House.

and this sadly is Mexico at these days. Just installed an electric fence against burglars. Getting worse day by day ... The Good guys are locked up and the Bad guys in liberty

Hi Rainer...

Love the pic of the praying mantis!

Sorry to hear that you have had to resort to this level of protection

Hi,

Fortunately no problems but some neighbours had and nearly all houses already look like this with electric fences. We have an empty ground on the right side and that could be a problem so I had to fence the front as well as the long right side ...

Another neighbour has the same but he did not yet fence the wall. Maybe in the next days ;)

In the image below you can see it. The house on the bottom is mine.

The Mantis image seems scary to me, but you are not alone with the zapping-fence

I have one installed for some few years and definitely a 'shocking' idea, but well worth it these days - unfortunately...

Sad to see that the need for the electric fences is more wide spread that Rainers specific circumstances.

Here, we use electric fence to keep cattle and sheep in their pastures or bears out of honey bee colonies...quite the contrasts

Of course it is sad that there is a need to deter human-beings from entering places that they should not be in, including "electrified"-railways, airports, military establishments etc., etc. :o

So if the imbeciles don't want to get a shock (or in some cases actually be lawfully-shot), they should ask permission before entering such private- property.

I fully understand Brian's comment, but times have or will come when - there is need to deter other life-forms from entering areas - they shouldn't...
