iss transit

Post by rxdeath »

this is the first i've caught and i'm stuck in processing but i had to show this video.

i have 2 more in the next week in my area i plan on hitting, its a thrill to watch it appear and streak through. another one tomorrow ~50 miles away but the iss will be double the size (nearly 60' instead of the 29' shown here)

calsky deserves all the credit for probably nearly all of these, so thank you for your insane prediction software

Beautifully done sir! I should post mine, too, even though yours is much better.

today was a fail as far as capturing video, firecapture kinda screwed me, but my whole family from out of state was with me and saw it. i'm going to aim for 29th to capture a 55'' iss on the disc, but we'll see, it happens during rush hour and that might not work out.

thanks for your kind words, i might start a project to get as many as i can and compare resolution/transit time differences for 'fun'

Excellent transit capture...thx for sharing

Although I should be cursing you for posting it...now that I've seen such an excellent execution, I'm inspired to try it ;-)

Question; Does the Calsky app show you where on the disk the ISS will appear?

Thx again for sharing!

ha- the 100 was a little much, so if you can drag the 152 to catch it, you're a better man than me

it shows the centerline and the closer you are to that, the closer to the center of the disc you are, if you get too far outside the path, it will just skim the edge

rbenton met me there for this one, his grasshopper probably did a little better job than the 174, so look out for that post to compare if you're interested, we were about 6' apart for the capture.
