Hi:
Today it was hazy and cloudy but was able to image the sun in H alpha and in Cak, using the Solarmax 90-DS and a 102mm Meade refractor fitted with a CaK PST mod. The camera was the SKYnyx 2-2.
Alexandra and Stu, what I did for the CaK prominences is nothing special, I just lowered the Gamma to 0.35, increased the Exposure time to 45.9 ms, increased the Gain to 5.42, left the Contrast and Brightness in 1. The fps were 9 and 10, the recording format was SER.
What happened is that I had never lowered the Gamma below 0.6, so when lowering it to 0.35 I had more room to play with the other parameters to advantage.
Thanks for looking,
Eric.

Nice images Eric. I always image with the lowest possible gamma value. Your Ca-K images are amazing

Terrific Eric I see your point about lowering the gamma as CaK tends to give a wash out when increasing the exposure. However I don't usually like to drop too much as you loose information. This can be replicated in Photoshop afterwards without loss of info, but there is a fine balance when it is impossible to stack because of a lack of contrast.
