Hi all,
I took these shots on Sunday afternoon. We didn't get the clear skies promised, but we had about 30 minutes where the sky wasn't opaque. It was a chance to test out the new-to-me ASI178MM-Cool I bought last week in the CN classifieds.
I think the difference is pretty dramatic...the resolution improvement is dramatic vs. my ASI224MC. I love that camera, but I think that for H-Alpha which is the definition of narrow band, monochrome is the way to go. And I think the ASI178mm is a good match for the SolarMax 60. I'm not used to liking my images better at full resolution, but these shots really do look better viewed on a large screen.
Clear skies,
Damien
