Sol from the last day of February and the first day of March 2018.

Post by eroel »

Hi:
Had a chance to image the sun the 28th of February in CaK and H alpha, and just in H alpha the 1st of March.
Used the Solarmax 90 -DS and the Meade 102mm refractor fitted with the PST CaK mod, the camera was the SKYnyx 2-2.
Thanks for looking,
Eric.

A very nice set of disks there Eric! No clear skies here at the moment unfortunately.

Alexandra, Franco, Pedro and Mark:
Much appreciated comments.
BTW, the left hedgegrow prominence shown in the H alpha shots taken the 28th of February, did not come out in the CaK images.
I tried to get it out, but I had to up the gain too much, and the other side prominence and solar periphery was totally burned out.
Looks like the lace type protuberance had not much to show in CaK light. ¿Any comments about it?
Have a nice weekend,
Eric.

I find with the proms in CaK they come out best when they are associated with more 'high energy' features than a quiescent one.

Brian and Mark:
Thanks and yes, I think that a lace type of prominence is not associated with a high energy feature, so in CaK light it won`t show up easily.
Regards,
Eric.
