Well, that was the intent anyway. I am running low on the 4TB disk that I use to store astro images, so I figured I could go back through them and delete files that hadn't been used.
Instead, what happened is that I ended up reprocessing older images instead of deleting them. Sigh...
This image is from August 27, 2017. I bought my telescopes for the eclipse, so this is one of my earliest images. I reprocessed without looking to see what my original version looked like. This is the new version in false color

Exactly the same data. The only difference is a little bit of practice.
In my microscopy work, I have found that 90% of the improvements in my images come through working on technique, with only about 10% coming from hardware upgrades. Not surprisingly, the same seems to be true in astro photography
