Major Prominence, Surface Features in HA, WL & CA | 120mm
Hey all,
Weather was much more aggreable this morning and so I was able to get into some better seeing. The big prominence group is still present on the limb, and still quite interesting. The sunspot is gone, but it's surrounding plage area and filament near it is still present and can be seen in HA & CA, but not really in WL. With better seeing I was able to image convection cells at 4200mm in white light, which I'm always interested in (there's always something to image no matter what!). With the extra time, I took a look at it in 393nm and looked at the faculae & plage where the sunspot used to be for comparison (not real CA though, closer to Iron, using a Skybender and some 393nm filters that are pretty broad, but still provides more to see than straight white light does). Did a full disc in 393nm just to see it (scale was bad though with my pixel size).

Quark Chromosphere
Baader Solar Film Filter
Baader Solar Continuum Filter (540nm)
Skybender with two 393nm filters stacked (393nm)

Great stuff again, Marty. Excellent prominence detail, very nice Ha close-up and granulation.

Very nice H-a images, Marty!
