The afternoon turned out really beautiful and thankfully it lasted until after I got home, giving me the chance to take a few solar images at either end of the spectrum before the Sun was lost behind the rooftops.
First up a CaK FD showing the nice active region (AR 2706) emerging from the east.

Then the same in Ha using my DS Lunt 60. One or two dodgy areas because of variable seeing.....ah well.

A closer view of the active region with my 150mm/DS Lunt 35 Frankenscope

And a closer crop from the same image.

Back to cloud and rain this weekend...... typical!
Thanks for looking.

Re: Friday Sun April 20th
Great images, Stu ! Going to NEAF tomorrow, weather is supposed to be clear and sunny. Should be fun.
I hope to have some time to image Sunday in between errands.

Many thanks, guys. Comments are always welcome and appreciated.
A couple of extras; AR2076 with a red filter (Ha 7nm FWHM) in mono and colour using the 250 mm RCT.
Anyhow, here they are.

I was pleased to see granulation in these images. On screen it looked pretty bad until image processing did its magic.
Thanks for looking.
