High res Ca K image with TOA150 on April 24

Post by christian viladrich »

Dear All,

After a very long period of bad weather, Sun is back
I am testing a new configuration for Ca K high resolution imaging with my TOA150. The first results are promising.
Here is an image taken with my Basler 1920 :

And another one with better resolution taken with the ASI290 :

Best regards

Great images, Christian! As always.

I just forgot that I have CaK filters too. Looks like you, Alexandra and Mark T. love to image in CaK more than in H-a. Correct?

Thanks for sharing.

These images are very impressive! I'm very envious of your seeing.

What sort of changes are you doing with your filter?

Hi Christian,

Fantastic sharpness. Makes me want to have another try on CAK imaging with the 8" ARIES tri-band D_ERF.

Thanks guys :-)

Valery : actually, I usually take more Ha images than Ca K ;-) But as I've found out a new way to take Ca K images with the full aperture of the TOA150 and no risk for my Ca K filter.

Mark : I placed an internal 50 mm Astronomik blue internal ahead of the focus. So far so good. No internal trubulence nor filter cracking...
Still, there is a lot of energy passing through the blue filter (blue photons are more energetic than red ones ...), so I think I will go for a 50 nm FWHM blue filter instead of the Astronomik blue.

Thanks Eric :-)

BTW, I've made a typo error, the image was taken on the 25th, not on the 24th.
