Hi and thanks everybody,

BTW the sky looked like in the image. Looks like the cloud filter helps

As you know I bought a Daystar Quantum PE 0.4 angström filter at NEAF 2018 and while talking to Jen Winter, Owner of Daystar and showed her my Coronado Double stack images she evaluated the image quality at about 0.4 angström based on the details.

Another interesting thing are the gradients visible in the small reduced images. I measured the median inside of that two marked circles and the difference is from the left 185 to the right 173 only 12 steps seems to be for us a huge difference

I then made an artificial flat with the center image of the mosaic.

2018-04-27_13-37-42_pp-1f_500_flatt.jpg (87.2 KiB) Viewed 1086 times
applied it on the original image

2018-04-27_13-37-42_pp-1f_500_normal.jpg (581.9 KiB) Viewed 1086 times

and the flattened result looks like this
2018-04-27_13-37-42_pp-1f_500_flattened.jpg
2018-04-27_13-37-42_pp-1f_500_flattened.jpg (532.11 KiB) Viewed 1086 times

Then I measured the same spots again

Normal Flattened
145 173
156 181
164 187
152 178
131 162

Now my dilema is. ¿ should I flatten in future or not ? it is a lot of work

Rainer:
The 9 piece mosaic should be better with flattened parts.

Eric.

Thanks for the update. Flatting mid disk and applying this to all panes should get rid of your gradient Rainer.
