Good seeing but windy 25th May

Post by robert »

I managed to set up early and measure the SSM seeing initially below 1 arc sec.

However the wind shook the telescope around, so a completely clear sky was only partially usable. There is always something that needs optimising! Later on it became hazy as well.

I tried WL with Skywatcher 200 Newtonian, ND3.8, Continuum, UV/IR cut and PGR Ch3.

15 second cadence, lots of gaps from wind shake and haze.

Then PST mod 150mm f1200mm Barlow x3. UV/IR cut. 30 second cadence. bin x2

Hi Robert
A great collection - the WL animation is very interesting - what is the time frame of the vid?

Very nice WL images and animation, Robert. And nice morning seeing! Did you use any other filter besides ir/uv-cut?

About 15 minutes but lots of frames cut out because of the shake. 15 seconds cadence.
