Sol from the 14th of July 2018.

Post by eroel »

Hi:
Started clouded, then hazy and later rained, but There were some clear spots once in a while, so I stayed at the home observatory just trying to catch the brief periods of shinning sun.
Used the usual Solarmax 90-DS for Ha FD shots, the 102mm f/9 Meade refractor with the CaK mod, with a 0.5X reducer for FD, then at native focal length and also with a 3X Barlow. Also used the 102mm f/7 Stellarvue with a full aperture Daystar ERF (yellow), a 4X Baader Telecentric and an old Daystar T-Scanner. The camera for all shots was the SKYnyx 2-2.
Thanks for looking,
Eric.

Wow! I do marvel at your CaK shots :bow I always have a problem that they are blurred, how do you get them so crisp?

Alexandra, I record them with low gamma and high gain.
Best wishes to all,

Beautiful shots, Eric.
The Ca full disks crackle with detail! Along with the other FDs, I really enjoy the H alpha surface closeups.
Cheers, Peter.
