More Ha from July 15th

Post by MapleRidge »

Good evening all...

I'm getting caught up on the imaging session and this post highlights the session form Sunday morning (July 15th). The day started with a crisp blue sky and decent seeing, but as the day progressed the temperatures moved well above 30C but I managed to finish at the scope before it got too hot.

There were fewer proms as previous days, but the detailed non-AR still dominated the view and like Valery I found a few dark spots in the red continuum (zero pressure on the DSII etalon). Starting off are the images taken through the LS80T/LS75FHa/B1200Ha solar scope, full disk and limb composites with the limb inverted:

The first images I grabbed through the modded CR-150/DSII/B1800Ha (with a 3x tele extender in front of the camera) had the tuner on the DSII unit set at 0 PSI. This managed to show a few small dark spots as Valery posted earlier as well a bit granulation and faculae in the areas that show in the tuned Ha images:

After being tuned, the scope was trained to the western limb to see if any potential activity was on the way into view. There was a subtle linear feature that I grabbed and after processing shows an X shaped filament feature:

The last image is a 2 frame mosaic that covert he region of activity, now well to the west of mid disk:

There were four main areas with proms, presented below moving clockwise around the limb from the NW quadrant:

This concludes the last session I had on Sunday. As always, questions and comments are always welcome.
