Solar minimum group
A very small group emerged yesterday on the south hemisphere (AR12718), just few minor spots without penumbra. It is a typical solar minimum group, however observing in WL I noted in addition several faculae, small but very bright, close to the N polar region. Small signs of activity, may be indicating that something is about to happen ?

Re: Solar minimum group
I think Calcium K or H is really going to show us a lot more activity over minimum than you think (minimum is classed in WL observations). It will be fun to watch these bright areas come and go.

Re: Solar minimum group
Thanks to all. Alexandra, you're right, I remember, decades ago, observing the sun only in WL during minimum was really boring
I observed the group again this morning through a Baader K filter, there were less spots, only three, but the main one seems to have developed a rudimentary penumbra. The cluster of faculae close to the N pole still persist, it can be barely seen in the below full disc.

Re: Solar minimum group
That's still a cracking spot for this time in the cycle (any will do ) interesting it is trying to form penumbra, let's hope it grows.
