Boring Sun
I prepared all my solar toys this morning only to discover later that there were really few details to image. I started with some granulation in K line but I soon give up as eventually I didn't see any sense in this, particularly after Christian showed us his results
So, only a full disc, some small prominences on the SE limb (but not in detail because I noticed them only too late while processing the disc image) and a portion of the SE limb, all with the calcium Quark to which I replaced the IR-eater glass with an Astronomik IR-cut noting an improvement in sharpness. Of the original BF I left in place only the blue glass.

Re: Boring Sun
So incredibly quiet. Nice images, though, Raf.

Re: Boring Sun
Thanks Stu. Today's page of Spaceweather.com has an
interesting article on some consequences of this solar minimum, it's worth a reading.
Apollo, yes calcium Quark is heat tunable however the bandpass is large (5A) therefore tuning has only a limited effect. Tried to stack it with a Omega Optical CaH filter but images are too dark.

Re: Boring Sun
Thanks! Look at today's hedge on the SE limb if you can.
EDIT: I mean this one

Re: Boring Sun
Got a pic of the quark with its new filter Raf?

Re: Boring Sun
This is the original BF composed by a blue thick glass and a clear thin one, I suppose a KG3 or something like that
I cleaned all surfaces, put back the blue glass in the Quark and screwed the clear glass on the Quark's nose as (luckily) the glass has the same diameter of the most common eyepiece filter (I simply used a 1.25" spare ring) Later I replaced the clear glass with the Astronomik IR cut, now my Quark appears this way
they were glued but after about one year the glue became degraded and fissured although I have always been careful not to use the device with apertures greater than 80mm without an additional UV/IR cut filter. Re: Boring Sun
Never let anyone else's pictures put you off taking your own it is the pleasure of seeing the Sun and seeing anything on it whether it be small or large that is the delight
These are super images
