Heya,
It's rained and been cloudy for days, but today around noon it cleared up. Usually my seeing is really bad this late in the day. I chanced it anyways. Captured today's fair prominences on the limb and an undesignated small active region in high resolution. I accidentally captured an occulting jet passing through the disc with the PST looking at full disc prominences too.

Hi Marty...
Nice work and the longer focal lengths show their ability to find features on the relatively featureless disk. Nice work

Thanks all
Woke up to total cloud cover this morning, so hopefully someone else is spying on that little AR to see if it grows a wee bit.
Very best,

I tilt it a bit. No reflections. The haze is from the maximized gamma and histogram stretch through a single stack. These proms are very feint and I push the exposure, and then in processing push it there too after stacking. I have the same on all proms even on smaller instruments and without the daystar ERF. It's a matter of processing it out. I generally leave the haze when it's too difficult to remove without it looking completely unnatural and overly processed sometimes.TheSkyBurner wrote: ↑Sun Nov 04, 2018 1:35 am I am just curious if you tilt the objective erf at all, i am noticing a haze around your latest prominence captures since you added that daystar erf , it seems they were not there so much prior to its install? I wonder if you have a double image somewhere?

Fantastic images Marty and a well deserved SPOD I enjoyed the jet transit, they always startle you when imaging, then make you smile
Nice to see the little trainee too

Very nice images, Marty. The Earth scale really sets things in context.

Thanks all,
I hope my next day off the active region is still there, it seems to have grown a wee bit.
