Questions on alignment

Post by Questor »

Hey everyone,
I have gone back to an old project that I never finished. Solar eclipse 2017. At the time I recorded the entire eclipse in avi format with firecap.
I have just upgraded my computer and wanted to tackle making a complete start to finish video. So far, I used PIPP to break down the avi’s to individual images. Batched and colorized each image.... now I need to align and then recompile.
Question what’s the best way to alignment the 36,000 images... I’m use to alignment of smaller batches but wonder if anyone has any experience with this.

Programs with experience
Registax
Autostakkert
Ccdstack
Photoshop

Thanks for the input
Chris

imPPG would be a good thing to try. Not sure about 36,000 images though. Works brilliantly for smaller numbers.

Maybe off topic but is there a real good practice manual available or even better a movie step by step how "Imppg" works.
I can't find a real method to use it on the right way.
Thanks for reading ...

Here is the tutorial for ImPPG
https://greatattractor.github.io/imppg/ ... al_en.html

For the alignment go to Tools, align image sequence. It is quite intuitive so I am sure you will work it out. It may take a while.
