Sunday Sun 3rd Feb 2019

Post by Carbon60 »

I wasn't expecting to see any Sun this morning, so when the sky turned blue I quickly got on the case with my 72mm refractor to capture at least one full-disk image in CaK. Yesterday I completely failed in Ha, struggling to get on band during the short session. I didn't want to risk doing the same this morning, so CaK it was. However, I could see the sky around me changing as each minute passed, becoming more hazy and then cloudy, as if from nowhere, so again my time on the scope was limited and the sky in front of me lost clarity. Never mind. Better than nothing.

Very nice CaK Stuart looks a very tight bandwidth with the two extra filters :bow

I had Sun technically, it was shining but not good enough for solar. It was one of those glorious sunny mornings but through thin white haze.

Nice one Stu! I like the way you coloured it, it is really subtle. May I ask you what settings you use? CS! Bart.

I had the same problem on Saturday, no luck at all in Ha. Nice day but a washout for solar.

Hi Bart,

I use curves in PixInsight and just push up the blue and the red (a little less) at the mid-point until it looks about right :)

I’m still working on finalising the settings.
